I understand that Wine will let you run windows programs in linux. This way you could use DVD Shrink with Ubuntu. I ran across a web site which might help: http://www.mrbass.org/linux/ubuntu/dvdshrink/. If nothing else works, I image it would be worth it to partition your harddrive and install Windows as well. Can't seem to find any DVD ripper that works for Linux! All I want to do is backup my Star Trek DVD collection to my computer. NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK! I have tried these programs, have installed all of the necessary apps under wiki.ubuntu.com/RestrictedFormats and still cannot play or even copy an encripted DVD. I hear that either MacTheRipper or DVDRemaster are great solutions for your mac, although I haven't had a chance to test them.
