Cpu-Z

Knowing information about your computer is important when you want to get the most out of it. The other day I was attempting convert my computer into a Hackintosh and I needed to know very detailed system info about my PC. Since it is a number of years old, I did not know if it had SSE2/SSE3 technology within the processor. I nearly put the project on hold, thinking that my computer was too old to proceed, when I ran a quick search for a program that could tell me what I needed to know. It would have to be free of course. Enter “CPU-Z.” CPU-Z quickly told me everything I needed to know and more. CPU-Z even informed me that 1 of my sticks of memory that was capable of running faster than the other. Pretty cool stuff. If you can believe this, it told me that date that I installed the additional stick of memory that was causing my entire system to run less than optimal. Amazing!

Eric,
Crazy stuff! I can’t believe it can tell you when you installed your memory. Unbelievable.
